5 Questions: Malik Mustache
From Campinas to the world—how has your journey evolved from rocking Brazilian festivals like Universo Paralello and Só Track Boa to now landing on Bedouin’s prestigious Human By Default label with ‘Ungubani’?
Our journey has been a wild ride! We started out playing local parties in Brazil, hustling to get our sound heard. Festivals like Universo Paralello and Só Track Boa were huge milestones for us—they gave us the exposure and experience to connect with a larger audience.
Over the years, we refined our sound, blending deep grooves with that raw energy we love. Landing on Human By Default with Ungubani is another huge step. It’s a label we admire for its artistic vision, and being part of their roster feels like validation that our sound resonates on a global scale.
Your collaboration with Wilson Timba and GuguPash bridges Brazilian and African electronic music cultures. How did this fusion come together, and what was the vision behind ‘Ungubani’?
We’ve always been fascinated by the deep, organic rhythms of African music. The connection between Brazilian and African musical roots runs deep, and we wanted to bring that into our electronic sound.
Wilson Timba and GuguPash brought authentic African soul to Ungubani—it was all about capturing that spiritual, tribal energy. Our vision was to create something timeless, a track that felt like a ritual on the dancefloor, where people could connect beyond borders through rhythm and groove.

The key is reading the room while keeping our signature groove intact. We always bring that Malik Mustache bounce, but we adapt it to the moment, making sure the crowd stays locked in from start to finish.
